The AICESIS, the ILO and the Dutch SER jointly organized on October 29 and 30, 2015 in The Hague (Netherlands) an international conference on Promoting Workplace Compliance including in Global Supply Chains: The role of Economic and Social Councils and similar social dialogue institutions.

The AICESIS and the Spanish ESC held an open workshop on the ESC-SIs’ functioning and working ways on 3 and 4 March 2016 in Madrid (Spain). This event proved to be a very constructive success, thanks to the involvement of all, the quality of presentations and debates as well as the kind hospitality and perfect organization of the ESC of Spain.

Please kindly note that a synthesis of the workshop will be sent soon. Moreover, the exchange of experiences and practices on ESC-SIs’ functioning and working ways will be continued during the AICESIS General Assembly tobe held in Cotonou (Benin) on 15-16 September 2016.
On October 22, 2015, the Tripartite Commission was replaced by Council Social Dialogue, that brings together employees, employers and the government. It ensures the economic and social development conditions and improves the competitiveness of the Polish economy and social cohesion. It works for the enforcement of the rules of social participation and solidarity in employment relations and the improvement of the quality of formulating and implementing socio-economic policies to create a national tripartite social consensus.
During two days the European ESCs and the EESC, gathered together by the French ESEC in November 2014, studied the challenges of the euro-skepticism rise in public opinion and the growing distrust of citizens against democracy representative.
The Economic and Social Development Council (CDES) holds its 44th Plenary Session on January 28th in Brasilia with updated composition 2016 brought a fresh start to the Brazilian government and civil society. The meeting discussions revolved around the theme “Pathways to Brazilian Development”. The new Executive Secretary is Mr. Jaques Wagner, Minister of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic.
