AICESIS General Assembly was held in Bucharest (Romania) on 26th and 27th June 2014. The various topics and discussions, particularly those concerning the 2013-2015 main working theme, "National human capital and new sources of national competitiveness" as well as the exchange of experiences on the roles of the ESCs-SIs in the fight against economic crime on one hand and the fight against poverty on the other, produced a strong mobilization of members.

AICESIS, the ILO and the Korean ESDC will jointly organize on November 20 and 21, 2014 an international conference on «the role of ESC-SIs and the social dialogue in the implementation of a social protection floor for all» in Seoul (Republic of Korea)

 - UCESIF: L’UCESIF, per il 19-20 settembre 2014, ha organizzato a Niamey (Niger) un convegno su «La realizzazione delle tutele sociali di base nei paesi francofoni”.

2014 ILO International Labor Conference "The transition from the informal economy to the formal economy": On 6th June 2014 in Geneva (Switzerland), AICESIS President, Mr. Velikhov, delivered a speech, prepared by the working group led by the Mauritian NESC.

Worker, employer and government delegates from the ILO's 185 member States will tackle a wide range of issues, including labour migration and employment strategies, ways out of informality and strengthening ILO Convention 29 on forced labour.

Nowadays the Association holds  large-scale discussion activities on the topic: "The role of economic and social councils and similar institutions against poverty."

This topic was suggested by the China Economic and Social Council, it was joined by Brazil, Vietnam, Gabon, Spain, Benin, and Guinea.

Theme of the 2014 ILO International Conference of Labor "Transition from the informal economy to the formal economy"

The Secretariat is updating the AICESIS global database on ESCs / SIs. This work has been undertaken in cooperation with the ILO. Those ESC- SI which have not updated their data yet are kindly requested to send their updated form (aicesis@aicesis.org) as soon as possible. This database aims at covering all the 193 members of the United Nations. It will be presented at the General Assembly in Bucharest and will be then uploaded online.

This topic was suggested by the National Council of Economy and Labour of Italy, it was joined by Russia, Benin, Gabon and Mauritania.
