The General Secretary of AICESIS wishes you happy end of the year celebrations, and a happy new year 2017. It also thanks all of its members for their efforts and strong implication in AICESIS’ activities along 2016. 2017 will be full of events and initiatives, with the nomination of a new SG, a new Presidency and the Board renewal.

Participation and intervention of the SG in the General Assembly of the Council of Labor and Social Dialogue (CTDS) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union. 

Intervention of the SG at the Academy on labor relations established by ILO in its International Training Center.

Participation of the SG in the International Forum of Rabat on “The role of ESCs-SIs in sustainable environmental transition” and focused on climate justice. Eight ESCs attended this forum: Algeria, Benin, Spain, France, Greece, Mali, Morocco and Senegal.

Dutch banks, unions, NGOs and Government signed an agreement on international responsible business conduct regarding human rights in the banking sector, facilitated by the SER.

On October 28, the ESEC celebrated the 70th anniversary of its registration in the Constitution with the presence of the President of the Republic.

Annual meeting of the EU ESCs Presidents and SG and the European ESC on “Future of work and social rights in a mutating Europe” in Madrid (Spain) on October 6-7. Final version of the conclusions was approved.

Mr. Vazgen Manukyan, President of the Public Council of Armenia (PCA) and his delegation paid a visit to China on 30th Oct. - 4th Nov. at the invitation of Mr. DU Qinglin, President of the CESC. Mr. Vazgen Manukyan met with Mr. Du Qinglin on 3th Nov., exchanging opinions on the diplomatic relations between the two countries, China-Armenia economic cooperation under the framework of the initiative of the Silk Road Economic and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road, the newly held sixth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and the bilateral cooperation between the CESC and the PCA.

61st Session of the Commission on the Status of Women from March 13th to 24th, 2017. Topics to be addressed will be: women’s economic empowerment in the changing world of work, Challenges and achievements in the implementation of the MDG for women and girls, empowerment of indigenous women.
