On October 31, after 7 years as Head of the ILO Bureau in France, Mr. Jean-François TROGRLIC resigned. His work has been very useful, especially for AICESIS since he had a crucial role in strengthening links and cooperation between the two institutions. Thanks to his efforts, an AICESIS-ILO cooperation agreement was notably signed in May 2012. His successor is Mr. Cyril COSME.

EDITORIAL

The final part of year 2014 has been extremely busy for AICESIS. The International Summer School held in Nalchik (Russia, 15th -21st September), the Regional Conference on «Economic growth by Strengthening Human Capital and Industrial Performance» in Curacao (25th -26th September), as well as the International Conference on «Social Dialogue, industrial relations and civil dialogue» in Athens (Greece, 8th -9th October) were all very successful. Furthermore, two other important events will close the year. First, the International Conference on «The role of ESC-SIs in promoting Social Protection Floors for All» will be organized in Seoul (Korea, 20-21 November) jointly with the ESDC of Korea and the ILO. Secondly, the Board will take place in Rabat (Morocco, 10th - 11th December) and the meeting will continue on 12th December with an open workshop on the topic « The ESCs-ISs and Civil Dialogue ».

The AICESIS website has been completely transformed in order to make it more complete, modern and easily accessible and consultable for both its members and external visitors. Thus, this tool offers each member already registered within the AICESIS Secretariat the opportunity to increase their visibility and upload information concerning their institution. The new website will also intensify the exchange of information, projects, experience and good practices between AICESIS Members. Furthermore, more working languages and sections are available with more information: "Experiences", “Multimedia", "Analysis and Interviews", "Working groups" etc.

Editorial

AICESIS General Assembly was held in Bucharest (Romania) on 26th and 27th June 2014. The various topics and discussions, particularly those concerning the 2013-2015 main working theme, "National human capital and new sources of national competitiveness" as well as the exchange of experiences on the roles of the ESCs-SIs in the fight against economic crime on one hand and the fight against poverty on the other, produced a strong mobilization of members.

On the occasion of the AICESIS GA, a working paper ("Blue Book"), prepared by AICESIS and the ILO, and listing more than one hundred ESCs, similar institutions or other tripartite social dialogue institutions in the world, was released. This database will soon be available online.

The Secretariat is updating the AICESIS global database on ESCs / SIs. This work has been undertaken in cooperation with the ILO. Those ESC- SI which have not updated their data yet are kindly requested to send their updated form (aicesis@aicesis.org) as soon as possible. This database aims at covering all the 193 members of the United Nations. It will be presented at the General Assembly in Bucharest and will be then uploaded online.
